Nice blog post from Nils Are Økland, at Vinforum in Norway, describing the Casa Montaña wine bar in Valencia. In Norwegian, sorry, but an important part is in English, from Casa Montaña’s manifesto, and I quote:
“Ancient peoples enjoyed drinking. When we use wine in moderation, as all precious things should be, it is health and medicine. Wine increases muscular strength, it enhances genetic sense, stimulates the nervous and psychic systems, makes eloquence easy, leads us to benevolence and inclines one towards association, pardon and heroism.
At Casa Montaña we know that wine awakens fantasy, makes memory lucid, increases happiness, calms pain, eliminates sadness, induces sleep, comforts old age, helps convalescence, and lends a sense of well-being to the soft and peaceful passage of life.”
I think that is rather beautifully put.
